ATTENTION :
  • WRONG DIRECTIONS: Many mapping services (including Google Maps, Mapquest, and Apple Maps) are providing incorrect driving directions to the park. Use Exit 178/SR 43 north of Lafayette to access the park. Do not use SR 225. There is no park entrance and the road has a one-lane bridge with a weight restriction.
  • I-65 RAMP CLOSURES AT S.R. 43: The I-65 southbound on ramp at S.R. 43 is closed at least through April 14, 2023. The official detour for the southbound on-ramp follows S.R. 43 north to S.R. 18 west to I-65 southbound.
  • STATE ROAD 225 BRIDGE CLOSURE: There is NO access from old S.R. 25 onto S.R. 225. The S.R. 225 bridge is closed until further notice. Repairs are scheduled to start in 2024. Access to the park's visitor center ONLY off of S.R. 225 (through Battle Ground) remains open. There is NO access to enter the park off of S.R. 225.
  • DETOUR FROM PURDUE: Guests traveling from campus should follow detour signs to access the park from North 9th St. due to closures on North River Road. S.R. 43 between Dehart St. and Happy Hollow Rd. The closure should end before summer 2023.
  • IMPORTANT NOTICE: AQUATIC CENTER ALERT FOR AUGUST RESERVATIONS AT PROPHETSTOWN:
When making reservations for August stays at Prophetstown State Park, please note starting August 14, 2023, the aquatic center will be closed Mondays through Fridays and open only on Saturdays and Sundays. The aquatic center will be open Saturday through Monday of Labor Day Weekend, closing for the season after September 4, 2023. Hours of operation may vary and can change due to inclement weather, facility maintenance, and lifeguard availability.
  • FLOODING: Parts of Trails 3 and 4 occasionally flood. Use caution and do not cross flooded areas. Do not walk 'off-trail' around flooded areas because there are many wetlands. If you encounter flooding, turn around. For up-to-date information about trail status, contact the park office.

TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE MINIMUM REQUIRED STAY: When booking a stay that includes Sunday night, April 7, 2024, you will also be required to include Monday night, April 8, 2024 in your stay. This requirement is primarily due to the volume of visitors expected for the Eclipse viewing and the amount of traffic expected during this time, plus the conflict of check in/out time occurring in the middle of the Eclipse itself on Monday afternoon. Thank you for understanding.
