July 16, 2015 Flooding: Patoka Lake is OPEN. All campsites, shelters and other reservable facilities are OPEN. All boat ramps remain OPEN. However, due to high water, the beach at Newton-Stewart SRA is currently closed. The Osborne Fishing Pier is also CLOSED. Boaters should use extreme caution when passing under bridges, and watch for floating debris. Please check back for updates.
Attention: On Saturday, August 22nd, 2015 we will be hosting a triathlon on the property. At this time, we do not plan to close any roadways, however, there may be additional people and traffic present during the event that will make it difficult to get around the property between 7am and 2pm that day. We appreciate your patience. If you have any questions, please contact the property directly.
Attention: To protect the safety of our patrons, on October 17, 2015 from 5:30pm until 7:30pm, we will close the campground to all traffic except for pedestrians. This closure coincides with our annual trick-or-treating event. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
ASH TREE REMOVAL: Patoka Lake is in the process of removing ash trees in the campground and throughout the property (due to damage caused by the emerald ash borer.) Once tree removal is completed, campsite descriptions will be updated to reflect any changes in levels of shade or sunlight on each site. Thank you for your patience in the meantime.
BLUE-GREEN ALGAE INFO: Blue-green algae (BGA) is found in our lakes year round. When conditions are right, cells can reproduce in large numbers, and can result in a harmful algal bloom (HAB). We test many of our beaches where people use the water in the summer, but HABs may occur in other seasons too. Watch for algae accumulation, avoid drinking or cooking with lake water, and do not allow children or pets to swim where algae accumulation is present. For more information, visit www.algae.IN.gov or read our FAQ sheet here.
